A Letter To The Past
2/21/20
Dear Jacob,
Hello. You may not have been expecting a letter, but this is important. This may change the way you create art forever. I am going to show you how to be a successful student in any Digital Art class and how to create satisfactory work. However, it may take a few years for you to apply any of these tips, but this will help you out very much in the long run. So let's get started.
The Digital Art teacher you will be assigned to in your tenth grade year is known as Mr. Klein. He looks for hard working, creative and problem solving students. When it comes to creating a piece of art, you must dedicate yourself to any project you are assigned and make it related to something you are interested in. If you choose an uninteresting, boring topic to create your work off of, you will frequently think about starting over, after all of the time you put in. If your artwork doesn't say anything about you, it won't be interesting for you to create.
A piece I have created was something that caught my attention. We were doing a project about minimalism, which requires you to take any movie, and recreate the poster by putting as little detail in as possible, but you can still get the idea of what the movie is about. I chose the Incredible Hulk because I have always been a fan of the Hulk, so this project ended up being a lot of fun for me. Here is the project.
Sincerely,
Jacob....

The Importance of Art
I disagree with this statement one hundred percent. Fine Arts is in fact a job in the real world. People also love doing art as a hobby and should be able to do it in school. The education system would be completely corrupt if it didn't even allow students to use their imagination in the classroom. As a matter of fact, I actually use art in the real world more than I do science or social studies!
People who say "art can't make money" have obviously never heard of Walt Disney or Drake. Walt Disney is of course the founder of the movie company Disney which is probably the most successful and wealthiest company to ever exist. Disney creates amazing artwork to make animated movies and is set to hit nine billion dollars in the box office. Drake is a well known hip hop artist who has made over one hundred-fifty million dollars on his songs. So riddle me this. Since when is art not a part of the work face if some artist have made over billions?
Also, if the fine arts shouldn't be a part of the work force, then why should sports? Art, music, acting all uses probably more creativity and problem solving than sports do. Why is sports getting all of the financial support from the government but art isn't? Literally everything you buy in the store was created by an artist or designer. They use problem solving and creativity every day and make so much money off of it. The next time you buy a pair of shoes, or a new shirt, remember that an artist made that and is making money from it.

What Art? 1
The moods in these images seem very tense. In the first image, you can see the lady is tense and has a nervous look in her eyes in an upright posture. The second image shows another lady, and you can tell she may also be stressed but not as tense as in the first image due to her hunch.
You can tell the medium used in both of these images are oil paint. You can clearly see the dynamic colors and the brushstrokes in the paintings.
The color in these paintings can be seen as dynamic but also a bit dark. There are many different colors in these paintings but you can tell they are not bright. The color choice can also add to the paintings tense mood.
The artist was trying to show that there can be different moods with people, such as the different colors in the piece. I think the artist could have done a better job at making this more clear to the viewers.

Unity (Visual Arts Logo response)
In this project, I used unity to join every layer together to make them look like they were connected in a certain way. I have no layers apart from one another so it looks like it is one picture and not a bunch of different logos in one logo. I kept each layer in one logo so it appears as a logo and not a collage.
